This symposium introduces and explores the concept of the “emotional emergency” in reproductive loss—an urgent, yet often invisible, crisis requiring intentional, compassionate, and multidisciplinary care. Professionals from across the nation will convene to define and operationalize this concept as a foundational step in advancing whole-person, trauma-informed approaches to care. Through evidence-based education, lived experience, and interdisciplinary perspectives, participants will examine the distinction between medical stabilization and emotional support, identify gaps in current care practices, and develop strategies to integrate compassionate, responsive care across clinical, mental health, and community settings.
